PAELLA party: a delicious paella lunch after our 6th ride, hosted by Mama Delgado in a beautiful Canarian house in the countryside.
Starters: mama´s guacamole, Serrano ham & typical Canarian potatoes with our traditional “mojo”. Wine & beers are included in the price……..and WALL OF FAME!
Tenerife, an island made for cyclists
– Good weather conditions all year round (min 15ºC – max 30ºC)
– Superior Training Terrain with climbs to El Teide 2,350 m (7,709 ft) that rival the toughest of the – Alps (Stelvio and Mortirolo)
– Bike Friendly Roads, almost non-existent traffic, smooth mountain roads.
Our training camp is based on the south coast of the island (Los Cristianos and Santa Cruz) in a perfect location to start our routes.

This day will be the regular warm up ride to Vilaflor and to ensure everyone has brought their climbing legs with them and that their bike is ready for the week ahead. Coffee stop in Vilafor 1,400m altitude.

First ascent of the weeek to Mt Teide from the West of the island. A steady climb 5-6% all the time on a perfect tarmac conditions and an amazing volcanic landscapes.

Fantastic an easy day to the East part of the island doing our usual ride out to TEMPUS Bodega to sample a local Canarian lunch & wine tasting.

Second ascent of the week to Mt Teide from the South up to Vilaflor and carry on to El Teide. We´ll stop for a coffee break at the top before going down the same way to the hotel. This is a real challenge of the week.

We´ll ride over Chio in the North West of the Island, descending the iconic switchbacks to the beautiful village of Masca before we continue to the coastal town of Garachico where we will tackle the stunning and quiet Las Cruces climb the ride will finish. After that we will transfer to Mama Delgado for the Paella Party.

We´ll explore the North East of the island and cycle the Bailadero climb up to the Unesco Biosphere Reserve of the Anaga Natural Park. Anaga is a highland of mountains with sharp peaks and deep ravines covered with carpets of laurel trees and dotted with charming hamlets, a stunning ride which offers magnificent views across the island and over to Mt Teide in the distance. Descending into the Unesco World Heritage city of La Laguna we will stop for lunch before finishing the ride back at the Capital of Teneriofe(Santa Cruz).

All Tenerife Bike Training itineraries may be subject to slight route changes, hotel substitutions, and other modifications.
We´ll finish the 6th route in our typical Canarian House in the North of the island, where Mama Delgado will greet you with a warm smile and the wonderful aroma of her expert cooking; the centre piece of which is always a huge Paella, cooked the traditional way, of course.
