Our training camp is based at the 4-star Paradise Park Spa Hotel on the south coast of the island in a perfect location to start our routes.

The Rides

We’ll have a fully supported ride with our usual TBT experienced ride leaders and Support Van. Our weekly program of supported rides is highlighted below.

DAY RIDE DESCRIPTION

SUNDAY: “Vilaflor” – “click on the image for larger view”

The route starts from the Paradise Park Hotel in Los Cristianos with a gentle steady climb to our first stop at La Centinela with time to refuel and take in the superb views. We then make our way to the first loop and climb of the day to La Escalona (7 kms and average of 5-6%) followed by an amazing descent to the town of San Miguel.

After the first loop we´ll ride to the town of Granadilla where we start a smooth 13km climb (average grade of 5-6%) to our cafe stop at Vilaflor.After that you´ll ride an amazing descent to Los Cristianos.

RIDE DISTANCE: 84 km (52 miles)
ELEVATION GAIN: 2,450 m (8,050 ft)

We start again from the Paradise Park Hotel in Los Cristianos and we will ride up & down along the coast to the town of Abades, before the first and challenge climb of the day. After a nice descent we´ll arrive to El Poris, a quite town on the coast.

This is to allow your legs to recover before the King´s day, the first challenge of the week. At El Poris we will stop at the sea-front cafe before returning along the same route.

This is the first real challenge of the week. We start from the Paradise Park hotel and we´ll ride through the coast to Alcalá. The first climb of the day will be an easy 8kms and perfect warm up through the banana plantations. You will then continue to Chio where we start the 24Km climb to the National Park of El Teide. The climbing isn’t over yet as we have a final 3km climb before we start a spectacular descent to Los Cristianos.

WEDNESDAY: Recovery day – “click on the image for larger view”

Today is a gentle recovery ride along the coast to the town of El Medano. This is to allow your legs to recover before the Queen’s day, the most challenging route of the tour. At El Medano’s we will stop at one of the many sea-front cafes before returning along the same route.

Our biggest challenge of the week! We start from the Paradise Park hotel and we´ll ride through the coast to Arico. Once we have passed through the picturesque village of Güimar, we start the climb of 34 kms to El Teide National Park. Breathtaking scenery awaits you, probably the most impressive landscapes Tenerife has to offer. . Chris Froome said: “It´s like travelling to Mars”. After a cafe stop at the mythical Parador hotel and a photograph opportunity with Mount Teide in the background there is only 3kms more of climbing before another spectacular descent to Los Cristianos (same as King’s Day). 

 

RIDE DISTANCE: 170 km (106 miles)
ELEVATION GAIN: 3,770 m (12,370 ft)

FRIDAY: “Vilaflor” + Paella Party“click on the image for larger view”

After 5 days of a great cycling we give you the option to start from Vilaflor (1,400m altitude) or start from the hotel (an extra 22kms and 1,400m of climbing). Either way you will arrive at the Parador hotel for a quick cafe stop and your last photo opportunity with El Teide. Only 5kms of climbing before we start one of the most beautiful descents to La Orotava for the Paella party at the Delgado’s family home in the countryside. Mama Delgado will greet you there with a warm smile and the wonderful aroma of her delicious cooking; the centre piece of which is a huge PAELLA, cooked the traditional way, of course!

RIDE DISTANCE: 82 km (51 miles)
ELEVATION GAIN: 2,750 m (9,000 ft)

TOTAL

RIDE DISTANCE: 491 km (305 miles)
ELEVATION GAIN: 12,150m (39,862 ft)

We´ll finish the 6th route in our typical Canarian House in the North of the island, where Mama Delgado will greet you with a warm smile and the wonderful aroma of her expert cooking; the centre piece of which is always a huge Paella, cooked the traditional way, of course.
